Musa, Echiejile Certain To Miss USA Clash
Published: June 07, 2014
CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa and Monaco fullback Elderson Echiejile will miss the friendly against United States in Florida later today.
Both players picked up injuries in the test match against Greece on Tuesday, and have been undergoing treatment for the past four days.
It is a foregone conclusion that they will not be on parade at EverBank Field (Jacksonville) when the game begins 1800 hours local time.
While Musa might recover on time for the Super Eagles world cup opener with Iran, Echiejile is racing against the clock to be fit for the clash against the Asia powerhouse.
In 1995, Nigeria met Team USA at the Gold Cup, losing 3 - 2 to the opponents despite Austin Okocha opening scoring in the 8th minute.
