Fanendo Adi, Obafemi Martins Grab Brace In MLS
Published: June 08, 2014
FC Copenhagen loanee Fanendo Adi notched up his second consecutive brace away from home in the MLS, as Portland Timbers defeated Real Salt Lake 3 - 1 on Saturday.
The former Dynamo Kiev and Metalurh Donetsk striker was on target in the 36th and 45th minute to hand Portland Timbers a 2 - 1 lead going into the interval.
Fanendo Adi also netted a double at the Stubhub Center (Carson, California) on May 28 in the 2 - 0 win over Chivas USA.
The loan agreement between FC Copenhagen and Portland Timbers comes to an end on July 31, but a permanent move can not be ruled out except he suffers a dip in form in the next three matches.
Meanwhile, Seattle Sounders maintained their hold on first place in the Western Conference standings following their hard fought 3 - 2 win against Chicago Fire, with Obafemi Martins grabbing a brace for the visitors.
Referee Chris Penso issued the Nigeria international a red card three minutes before the interval.
