Published: June 17, 2014
Super Eagles custodian, Vincent Enyeama, was not disappointed that the spectators that witnessed the clash between Nigeria and Iran at Estádio Joaquim Américo Guimarães, Curitiba showed their displeasure with the scoreline by booing both teams.
“What can I say? The fans pay to see the game. I think we disappointed them, but I will not comment on the level of the match. I do not analyze games. Football is football,” Vincent Enyeama was quoted as saying by globoesporte.globo.com.
Veteran Newcastle forward Shola Ameobi was introduced in the second half, and failed to score despite having a couple of chances.
The 32 - year - old has pointed a finger at Iran for their defensive tactics throughout the game.
“The boos are normal. When the fans are not happy, they boo. Alright. Not every game we can score goals. Iran came to defend,” the Sydney FC target added.
Nigeria will square off with Bosnia this coming Saturday at Arena Pantanal, Cuiaba.
