Sammy Ameobi May Get Nigeria Call Up After World Cup
Published: June 18, 2014
The Chronicle is reporting that Newcastle United striker Sammy Ameobi, younger brother of Super Eagle Shola, could represent the Nigeria National Team after the World Cup.
Though the 22 - year - old has been capped by the England youth teams, he remains eligible to sport the colours of Nigeria, having never made an official appearance for the senior team of England.
Next term, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is not prepared to hand Sammy Ameobi a role in the first team just as he did in the 2013 - 2014 campaign, where he made only 4 starts out of a possible 38 in the Premier League.
And knowing that the National Team selectors may overlook him if he is not playing week in, week out, a move to Middlesbrough is on the cards to enhance his chances of first team football.
Sammy Ameobi has been on the books of the Magpies since the age of 16, apart from a brief spell on loan at Boro last year.
