Stoke City Goalie Asmir Begovic Admits Eagles Were Better
Published: June 22, 2014
Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has admitted that the Super Eagles were better than the Dragons on Saturday evening, and the 1 - 0 scoreline was a true reflection of the African champions’ dominance.
Bosnia and Herzegovina kissed goodbye to the World Cup after failing to get a single point from their opening two matches.
“Nigeria were better, they deserved to win. I congratulate them, we left them too much space as they know how to use.
“The disallowed goal did not affect our game. Maybe we were unlucky, but so it goes in football. We are playing with Iran and we will do everything to win,” says Begovic.
His teammate Peter Odemwingie’s goal after 29 minutes decided the outcome of the meeting at Cuiaba on Saturday night.
