Bacary Sagna To Skip Ramadan Fast For Eagles Clash
Published: June 27, 2014
Speaking at a press conference, Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has stated that he will have to skip the obligatory Ramadan, which begins on Saturday night, and lasts for a month.
During the period of Ramadan, Muslims refrain from taking food or liquids and smoking from dawn until sunset except those who are ill or breastfeeding.
“As a Muslim, some laws allow us to avoid it. Personally, I will not do it. But everyone is free to do what he wants and I respect those who are practicing it.
“I do not think it’s a problem. After, we must assume, be careful not to have deficiencies because at this level it is not pardoned.” said the France international wing back.
At the ongoing World Cup, Bacary Sagna has featured in just one match, playing for 90 minutes in the 0 - 0 draw with Ecuador on Wednesday.
