CSKA Sofia midfielder Sunny Stephen, 25, has resumed pre - season training with the Bulgarian outfit .
The former Spain Under 20 international is expected to play a big role in the team this coming season due to the expected transfer of some of the midfielders in the squad.
However, the club granted him permission to travel to Spain to attend to urgent personal issues.
The one - cap Nigeria international returned in time for the friendly with Club Brugge held this past weekend.
