Published: July 12, 2014
Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama missed out on nomination for the best shot-stopper at the World Cup after Fifa unveiled the list of players chosen for the top prize.
In the same vein, respected France - based weekly magazine Jeune Afrique did not recognize the Nigeria international as the best player from the continent when the winner was announced earlier this week.
In a poll conducted by the Paris weekly, two Algeria internationals - Sofiane Feghouli (Valencia) and Islam Slimani (Sporting Lisbon) - were rated ahead of the deputy Super Eagles skipper at the World Cup.
In first place with 30.63% of the votes is Feghouli followed by Slimani (24.30%) while Vincent Enyeama came third after garnering 20.44% of the votes.
Vincent Enyeama was in between the pipes for the Nigeria selection 4 times at the World Cup, and conceded 5 goals in his last 2 games though Iran and Bosnia forwards could not get past him.
