Vincent Enyeama Voted Third Best African Player Of The World Cup
Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama missed out on nomination for the best shot-stopper at the World Cup after Fifa unveiled the list of players chosen for the top prize.<br /><br />In the same vein, respected France - based weekly magazine <span style="" class="notranslate"><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">Jeune Afrique did not recognize the Nigeria international as the best player from the continent when the winner was announced earlier this week.<br /><br />In a poll conducted by the Paris weekly, two Algeria internationals - </span></span><span class="notranslate">Sofiane Feghouli (Valencia) and </span><span class="notranslate">Islam Slimani (Sporting Lisbon) - were rated ahead of the deputy Super Eagles skipper at the World Cup.<br /><br />In first place with </span><span style="" class="notranslate"><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">30.63% of the votes is Feghouli followed by Slimani (</span></span><span style="" class="notranslate"><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">24.30%) while Vincent Enyeama came third after garnering </span></span><span style="" class="notranslate"><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">20.44% of the votes.<br /><br />Vincent Enyeama was in between the pipes for the Nigeria selection 4 times at the World Cup, and conceded 5 goals in his last 2 games though Iran and Bosnia forwards could not get past him.<br /></span></span>
