Fifa To Clear Kehinde Fatai For Romania
Published: August 13, 2014
The Romanian Federation are still battling to have Kehinde Fatai play for their National Team ahead of the start of the European Championship qualifiers.
In normal conditions, it takes at least eight years before the Astra Giurgiu ace is granted the citizenship of the Eastern European country.
However, Fatai does not need to wait for that long, and his file will be reviewed by the Commission for Citizenship, the Ministry of Justice in the coming days.
Even if that paperwork comes through as expected, the ex JUTH forward will have to get approval from Fifa before being capped by Romania as he has represented the youth teams of Nigeria in the past.
“The procedures are initiated for Fatai Problem is that Fatai would have played 3 matches at Under 20 for Nigeria .
“Lets see if they are considered by UEFA international matches. FIFA, we’ll see what they decide,” assistant manager of Romania, Valeriu Räƒchitäƒ, told Dolce Sport.
