Loveth Ayila and Asisat Oshoala scored the goals either side of the half that guaranteed qualification for the Africa powerhouse while Parris gave the Europeans an early lead in the 5th minute.
In his post match comments, coach Peter Dedevbo stated : “It was a fantastic match. We had problems in the first half with our defense and the English team kept my girls under a lot of pressure. ”
“But I knew my team would come back and they came back very well. I liked the character of my team today very much. We will now start right away to prepare for the quarter-finals. ”
Nigeria will clash with New Zealand on Sunday at the Moncton Stadium, Moncton in the quarterfinals.
