Ross Barkley Set For Spell On The Sidelines
Published: August 16, 2014Anglo - Nigerian midfielder Ross Barkley will sit out Everton’s first game of the season against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The England international sustained a knee injury during training yesterday, and is set to spend at least the next six weeks on the sidelines.
This summer, the 20 - year - old committed his future to the Toffees for four more years.
He had his breakthrough season in the Premier League last term, scoring 6 goals in 34 appearances , which assisted Everton finish fifth on the table.
Ross Barkley, who has an English mom and a Nigerian dad, has been on the books of the Goodison Park outfit since the age of 11.
