Almeria Midfielder Ramon Azeez Lacking Match Fitness Ahead Afcon Qualifiers
Published: August 30, 2014
Nigeria international Ramon Azeez is lacking match fitness ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifying ties against Congo and South Africa, with his last official appearance in a football jersey coming against Iran at the World Cup, precisely on June 16.
Having missed the opening fixture in La Liga, the Almeria starlet was an unused substitute in their 1 - 0 loss to Getafe on Friday night.
On the other hand, ex Golden Eaglets teammate Stanley Okoro, who has been promised first team football this season, is still waiting to make his official debut for Almeria after he was not named in the 18 - man squad for the second straight match.
Both players have two more years before their contracts expire with the Andalusian outfit.
Almeria provisionally occupy the 14th place in the Primera Division standings, with only one point in the kitty.
