Gov Mimiko Welcomes 25 States To Ore For National U-14

As the maiden National Under-14 Soccer Tourney commenced in Ore, the Ondo State Governor Segun Mimiko has welcomed about 25 states that stormed the town from all the six geo-political zones to partake in the competition designed to engage the pupils during long school vacation.
Speaking during the opening ceremony held inside the ultra-modern Mega Primary School Ore, Governor Mimiko who was represented by his special assistant on Projects, Engr. Raphael Ademulegun expressed happiness over the large turnout of states for the grassroots tourney, while he assured them of safe, secured and enabling environment for them to freely display their innate soccer talent.
The sponsor of the tourney, Dr. Omikunle Emmanuel while speaking also thanked the sports loving Governor who was described to always promulgate policies and programmes that quite friendly to youths and grassroots development in the state.
“I observed the potency and influence of soccer among other sports activities as catalyst for fast tracking youth and grassroots development, especially when the initiative is supported by appropriate authorities”, Omikunle who doubles as the Odigbo Local Government of National Association Proprietors of Private Schools noted.
Other dignitaries that graced the opening event included the Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Hon. Felix Akintunde, the traditional head of the town His Royal Highness Oba Johnson Olatomide and former Green Eagles and IICC FC, goalkeeper, Zion Ogunfeyimi among others.
