Stephen Keshi Drops Emmanuel Emenike From Starting Lineup
Published: September 06, 2014
Super Eagles manager Stephen Keshi has unveiled his starting lineup for Saturday evening’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo in Calabar.
In the absence of Lille number one, Hapoel Beer Sheva goalkeeper Austin Ejide got the coaches’ nod to begin the tie at the U. J. Esuene Stadium .
To provide cover for him in defense are Efe Ambrose, Elderson Echiejile, Godfrey Oboabona and Kenneth Omeruo.
In the center of the pitch are Chelsea star John Obi Mikel, Ramon Azeez and Eddy Onazi of Lazio.
Stephen Keshi has surprisingly omitted African Cup of Nations top scorer Emmanuel Emenike from the team-sheet, with the former Anderlecht libero preferring Oduamadi, Nwofor and Ahmed Musa to lead the frontline.
The match will start at the U. J. Esuene Stadium at exactly 1700 hours Nigerian time.
