Exclusive : Ex Nigeria Boss Samson Siasia SURPRISED Former Pupil Emmanuel Sunday Made Super Eagles Roster SV ScholzGrodig attacker and Super Eagles invitee Emmanuel Sunday was reportedly discovered by ex Nigeria manager Samson Siasia during his time with the junior national team.

And the 22 - year - old was included in his provisional squad list for the 2009 Fifa Under 20s hosted by Egypt.

Like everyone else, Samson Siasia, who watched Emmanuel Sunday at close quarters around five years ago, was surprised that his former ward was considered good enough for the National Team, after he fell off the radar.

“ It has been a while I heard about Emmanuel Sunday. I was with him in 2009 during my time with the Flying Eagles, he did not play a lot of matches.

“Back then, he was a good player, but there were so many good strikers in the squad (Ighalo,Kehinde Fatai and Sone Aluko, ed).

“He has disappeared from the scene. If he was invited to the Super Eagles, he must have improved, ” Samson Siasia told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.

Emmanuel Sunday has appeared only once for his new Austrian team this season, as a substitute for that matter.

Before his shift to SV ScholzGrodig, he played non stop in the Vietnamese championship for three years, turning out for Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong and Quang Ninh.
