KuPS Striker Francis Chibuike Relieved After Breaking Three - Month Goal DroughtKuPS attacker Francis Chibuike broke his goal drought dating back to June 8, 2014 when he hit target in the 79th minute, as his club lost 3 - 1 to Marienhamn on Sunday evening in the Finland top division.

The 21 - year - old has stated that his spell on the sidelines contributed to his lack of sharpness in front of goal during the past few months.

“I never doubted my ability to play and score goals. I was out for almost 6 weeks with a ligament tear in my ankle, I was hungry to play so I came back prematurely. I was not fully fit but I was still playing because I am important to the team.

“This is my fourth game since I came back and am getting better everyday,” says Francis Chibuike to allnigeriasoccer.com.

With only three rounds before the end of the Veikkausliiga, the former FCM youth - teamer thinks he has impressed since his arrival at the Savon Sanomat Areena.

“Like I said before, I never doubted my ability. My game speaks for itself, every game I play I give everything on the field. I help my team tactically, and I am a threat to defenders in the league.

“So my performance speaks for itself.  I came in May and have blended so well with the team on and off the pitch.

And I am a starter in the squad so the coach is pleased with me and the fans love me so I think have done well so far,” the KuPS number 30 added.

KuPS, who tackle TPS in their next game a week from today, sit sixth on the table with 40 points in the kitty after 30 rounds.
