Panathinaikos Young Star Abdul Ajagun : It Does Not Matter Who Scores
Published: September 28, 2014
Panathinaikos youngster Abdul Ajagun has played down his match winner against Niki Volos on Sunday in the Greece Super League, and has stressed that he would have preferred the team picking three points to chasing personal glory.
The former Flying Eagles skipper registered his name on the score - sheet three minutes before the interval, taking his tally this season to three goals in all competitions.
“We are very happy that we got the three points. That is our goal, to win every game. It does not matter who scores. What matters is that the team plays well and gets the results we want.
“Definitely gives me joy to score because it helps my team. But I must say that my own goals are the result of teamwork, ” Abdul Ajagun said in his post match comments.
With this victory, the Greens currently occupy the fifth position in the standings, three points less than pacesetters PAOK, who have 13 points from five games.
