The National President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) Mr. Bitrus Bewarang has congratulated the newly elected Executive members of the Nigeria Football Federation led by Amaju Pinnick.
And he has urged them to speedily intensify efforts in developing the game in the country, starting from the grassroots.
Bewarang who contested to enter the Board from the North Central zone but lost to the duo of Suleiman Kwande and Ahmed Yusuf (Fresh) expressed confidence on the abilities of the newly elected Board to turn the fortunes of the game round in the country.
“Let me first congratulate the newly elected Board of the NFF for their efforts in emerging at the elective congress held last week in Warri, Delta state.
“I also want to commend the NFF for ensuring that the congress went successful.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on the Board to intensify efforts in the development of the game right from the grassroots.
“The local leagues should be encouraged the more, and various youth development programmes should be established to ensure that we have better replacements for our ageing footballers,”Bitrus Bewarang stated.
Continuing, the Plateau United General Manager said “this cannot be possible, if we don’t have a more committed technical committee of the Board.
“This technical committee is the engineer room of the Board, and should be composed of members who are really committed to the development of the game, and with the needed technical depth in the game.”
In another development, the Chairman of the FCT Football Coaches Mr. Godwin Bamigboye has expressed disappointment over the inability of the Congress of the NFF to elect a coach or former player into the Board of Federation.
He said that electing a Coach or Player to the Board would have speedily develop the game in the country, because of their various vast experiences acquired over a length of years.
He however, advised the new leadership of the NFF to ensure that the new technical committee of the Federation is composed of those who are well grounded in the game, most especially Coaches and ex-players.
