Match - winner Francis Chibuike Rues Missed Opportunities
Published: October 05, 2014
KuPS forward Francis Chibuike has insisted that the narrow 1 - 0 victory over TPS on Sunday evening was a good result, even though his side failed to score so many goals against the already relegated opponents.
The ex FC Midtjylland Academy player scored his fifth goal of the season in the 16th minute, which secured all three points for KuPS.
“We won, that’s the most important thing but on the other hand we could have won with lots of goal, because we out-played them.
“We had a couple of chances but couldn’t convert them. It was a good game for us and for me because I scored the only goal, ” Francis Chibuike told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 21 - year - old took advantage of the interview to explain the reason why he failed to play an official game for the first team of FCM.
“ I adjusted so fast because I am used to the system. Scandinavian football, it is almost the same style of football.
“ I didn’t just get the chance when I was in Denmark plus my injury worries so I lost a little bit of myself confidence.
“But it is all good now, because this team have welcomed me well. The coach believes in me and the fans too, ” he said.
Francis Chibuike has made 19 appearances in the topflight, with 1217 minutes of playing time under his belt.
