Aaron Samuel, Hope Akpan And Raheem Lawal To Start Against Sudan
Published: October 15, 2014
Reading midfielder Hope Akpan will no longer be eligible to represent England in future, as he is set to make his international debut for the Super Eagles.
This is one of the several changes made by under - fire Nigeria manager Stephen Keshi, after majority of the players that were named in the starting lineup against Sudan disappointed him last weekend.
After the team meeting held earlier today, Stephen Keshi has decided to hand starting berths to Guangzhou R&F striker Aaron Samuel as well as Eskişehirspor midfielder Raheem Lawal, who were substitutes in the match day three tie against the North Africans.
Rizespor stopper Godfrey Oboabona and Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo will continue their partnership in central defense.
But fullbacks Elderson Echiejile and Efe Ambrose both drop to the bench, with Onazi and Oshaniwa expected to start.
The match will begin at the National Stadium, Abuja at 17:00 hours.
Starting Lineup : Enyeama - Onazi, Oboabona, Omeruo, Oshaniwa - Akpan, Mikel, Lawal - Emenike, Samuel, Musa
