Published: October 27, 2014
Former Flying Eagles striker Alhaji Gero saved östers IF from defeat on Monday night thanks to his 88th minute goal in the entertaining 3 - 3 draw with Jönköpings Södra.
The 21 - year - old had first leveled the scoreline for östers IF in the 70th minute before Ronny Sabo restored the home team’s lead 10 minutes later.
It was a much - needed point for östers IF as they are flirting with relegation, with only one round before the end of the 2014 campaign.
“I am really happy to score, it was a fantastic game. Getting one point from this game is very important,” Alhaji Gero said briefly to allnigeriasoccer.com.
This website understands that the offensive all-rounder could be severing ties with Osters at the end of this season, as high level talks are ongoing between an interested suitor and his Swedish team.
13th on the table Osters will host Degerfors in their final game of the season on November 2.
