Alfred Effiong Delighted To Win October Player Of The Month Award
Published: October 31, 2014Alfred Effiong has expressed his delight at winning the BOV Player of the Month Award for October in the Maltese Premier League.
The Qormi star netted his 100th goal in the championship against Floriana during the period under review, and he also struck in 3 consecutive matches in the top - tier this month.
“I won the Player of the Month because I think I was the standout player of the month of October. This is my first time winning the award and it is something that I have longed for, ” said Effiong to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I don’t know why I have been overlooked in the past I am just glad that I won it. ”
The 29 - year - old has nominated Ursuline Creche to receive the cash incentive handed by the sponsors of the award, Bank of Valletta.
“I chose Ursuline because it is located in the city of Qormi and I wanted to give back to the community.
“The amount is something discrete and would be given by the sponsors of the award which is Bank of Valletta,” he concluded.
