Elderson Echiejile Delighted To Open Monaco Goalscoring Account
Published: November 01, 2014
After chalking up eight appearances for Monaco, Super Eagles left back Elderson Echiejile finally has a goal to his name for the Ligue 1 moneybags.
The former Bendel Insurance and Sporting Braga defender opened his goalscoring account for Monaco in their 1 - 1 home draw with Reims on Friday night.
Elderson Echiejile took to Twitter to express his joy at scoring his first goal for the Stade Louis II outfit, but he has played down the feat, saying he would have preferred the maximum three points.
“Excited to have scored my first league goal tonight but it wasn’t the result we wanted, thanks for your support. #AllerMonaco,” Elderson Echiejile said.
The Monaco number 21 has made eight starts for the club since his switch from Sporting Braga in the January transfer window.
He has contractual obligations with the Red and Whites till June 30, 2018.
