Emmanuel Emenike Hoping To End Goal Drought Against Besiktas
Published: November 01, 2014
Fenerbahce attacker Emmanuel Emenike has shaken off a back complaint, and is hoping to end his dry spell in front of goal dating back to August 31st tomorrow in the Istanbul derby against Besiktas.
Since his eighth minute strike against Karabukspor in the opening round, the Nigeria international has failed to hit target in his last five matches, not taking into account his barren run for the Super Eagles.
“Now it is time to break the goal drought. Fenerbahce can not lose two derbies in a row. As the champions of last year, we hope to overcome Besikats.
“I’ll also breathe a sign of relief if I score a goal or goals in this match,” Emenike was quoted as saying by Fanatik.
Prior to the clash at the Recep Tayyip Erdoayan Stadyumu, the 27 - year - old has managed only one start for the Yellow Canaries in the last four Super Lig games.
