Published: November 02, 2014
After failing to score in his last nine matches for club and country, Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike finally ended his goal drought this evening in the Istanbul derby against Besiktas.
The Nigeria international, aged 27, opened scoring after three minutes, before fellow African Moussa Sow completed the scoring four minutes from time.
Fanatik quoted Emenike as saying (in Turkish) after the game : “It was a great night for my team, I congratulate all my friends.”
“We left with three points from a battle that we were extremely fit. I would like to thank everyone who supported me.
“Indeed, I played a very good game I think.”
