Michael Babatunde Battling To Be Fit For Afcon Qualifiers
Published: November 03, 2014
Michael Babatunde’s availability for the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against South Africa and Congo remains covered in mist, as he has not played competitively for his Ukrainian team since September 27.
For the fourth game in a row, the Nigeria international failed to make Volyn Lutsk’s 18 man squad for an official match, as he was nowhere near the bench or the starting eleven for that matter this evening in the goalless draw with Hoverla.
And that raises further questions whether or not he has recovered from the muscle complaint that saw him miss back - to - back matches against Sudan in October.
Strangely, Super Eagles manager Stephen Keshi has named Michael Babatunde in his latest roster despite the player being inactive for club and country for more than a month.
The winger has only 70 minutes of game time under his belt this season from a possible 900.
