Published: November 09, 2014
Ahead of two crucial African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa, Enyimba midfielder Kingsley Sokari has been drafted into the Super Eagles squad by the national team handlers.
Sokari, who was playing non - league football two years ago, caught the eyes of many on Friday, as the domestic Eagles, whom you can rightly regard as the Team B, defeated the Ghana Under 23s 1 - 0 in Uyo at the Transformation Cup.
Hailed in some quarters as the next Jay Jay Okocha, Sokari tickled the fancy of Stephen Keshi and his backroom staff, and they have recommended that he links up with the rest of the squad at the Bolton White Apartment.
What was conveniently left out of the press release is the fact that Volyn midfielder cum winger Michael Babatunde has been ruled out of both matches due to injury.
Logically, Keshi, with the approval of the Nigeria Football Federation, has moved quickly to replace him by inviting Kingsley Sokari.
