Published: November 10, 2014
Olarenwaju Kayode was the standout performer for Maccabi Netanya in their 3 - 1 loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League on Sunday, and the opponents had nothing but praise for the former Flying Eagles striker.
The 21 - year - old opened scoring for Maccabi Netanya in the 15th minute before the first division champions conceded three times due to their defensive frailties.
“He’s just a great player. He has an unusual speed, whenever he came one on one with our players, he just embarrassed us.
“Really unusual, he is wasting in Netanya, ” a Maccabi Tel Aviv official was quoted as saying by one.co.il.
Olarenwaju Kayode was linked with moves to teams in Turkey, Germany and Italy in the close season before he committed his future to Maccabi Netanya for two more years.
He is the second leading marksman in Israel, with 5 goals in 6 matches.
