Stefano Okaka Thanks Coach Mihajlovic, After Netting Debut Goal For Italy
Published: November 19, 2014
Italian - Nigerian striker Stefano Okaka has said that he was thrilled to net on his international debut for the Italian National Team in their 1 - 0 win over Albania on Tuesday evening.
In his post match comments, the Sampdoria star used the opportunity to thank manager Mihajlovic breathing much needed life into a career that was fading.
“It was strange, we thought we would see a stadium full of Italians, instead there were all Albanians. It was still a good thing, and Italy is also growing.
“The goal? The position there we tried it this morning with the Conte. From day one, I had a father - son relationship with Mihajlovic, can make me give my best and thank him for ever,” Okaka told RAI.
Stefano Okaka found the back of the net 8 minutes from his time after he was introduced in the 65th minute, as replacement for Giovinco.
