I Am Fulfilled Nurturing Stars, Says Ex NFF Supremo, Sani Lulu

Idah and Omala have booked their places in the finals of the 2015 Fosla U13 football championship at the Kogi State University stadium in Anyingba yesterday.
The annual tournament organised by the former President of the Nigeria Football Federation and proprietor of FOSLA Academy Sani Lulu Abdullahi sees 10 exceptional players selected for a scholarship award worth 10million naira from Kogi and Abuja zones.
The fifth edition of the annual FOSLA Academy football championship attracted at least 100 young in-school players from across the Eastern district of the state.
Idah advanced after they secured a 4-1 and 3-1 victories over Bassa and Dekina in the quarter and semi-final respectively in the nine-team knockout competition.
Second finalists, Omala defeated Olamaboro 3-0 in the quarter-final before they dumped out Cup holders Ofu with a hard fought 3-2 semi-final victory.
On his vision of nurturing young talents, the former NFF boss Abdullahi said he gains great fulfillment providing the platform to for the less-privileged and promising age-grade players to realize their dreams.
Looking unperturbed over the lingering crisis in Nigeria football, the former FCT director of sports refused to comment on the country’s issues football until he gets justice on ill-fated impeachment in 2010.
He said he will remain focused on contributing his little quota in developing the game he passionately governed as a progressive football administrator.
“I’m happy to see more of this young talents develop. I’m grateful to God that my long time vision as a football administrator is growing,”Abdullahi said.
“I’m satisfied helping this young boys who desires to discover a fortune out of football. I have no regrets. I always wanted help develop the game,” he said.
On the competition’s organisation, coach Christopher Alor, who is the Chairman of Local Organising Committee and former assistant coach of Nigeria U17 women team praised the improvement in participation, standard and admitted handful of talents have been discovered.
“We have made progress this year. The competition is far better than the last. A lot of has improved about the competition. Lulu has brought people with the interest of the game on board,” Alor said.
Meanwhile, the finals of the competition between Idah and Omala is scheduled for January 1st, 2015 in Idah.
