Oyo Police Lauds Commissioner Over CP Cup

As the Oyo State Police command ended the annual CP’s Cup after the Headquarters’ team defeated its counterparts from Oyo Area Command by 1-0 in the final match played at the Eleyele play ground, Ibadan, men and officers of the command were full of commendation for their boss, CP Kola Sodipo that masterminded the tourney.
The Area Commander and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode whose boys fell to their colleagues from state headquarters by a lone goal expressed satisfaction on the standard of the competition and performances of his boys.
He however, gave kudos to the state’s commissioner of Police (CP Sodipo) whom he claimed had been using his wealth of experiences in sports administration to improve sporting activities within the force over the years.
ACP Olokode pledged to present a better football team from his end in the next edition of the tourney, saying sporting activities is part of their routine in Oyo Area command and they were only unlucky to have won the cup this year.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner who had just got a Sports Gold Merit Award from Oyo State Chapter of Sports Writers of Nigeria (SWAN) in his remark after the final commended the good sportsmanship attitude displayed by his men during the tourney.
He added that the tournament will be extended to accommodate participants from other sisters’ agencies such as Customs, Civil Defense Corps, Military, Immigrations and NDLEA so as to further strengthen the inter-agencies relationship.
“If you will agree with me, the Nigeria Police Force has contributed to sport development in the country in no small measure and we promise to do more.
“I am optimistic that some of the players here will be part of future national police games and will always contribute to sport development in the country,” Sodipo noted.
