As part of preparation to have a better outing in the 2014/2015 Nigeria National League, NNL season, Kogi United will engage Premier League side, Sunshine Stars in an eight team preseason soccer tournament tagged Gold Cup in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />The Gold Cup tournament which is in its second edition will also see Kogi United taking on First Bank and FC Ebedei in group A.<br /><br />Tournament coordinator, Tunde Shamsudeen who disclosed that the competition which will take place at Dipo Dina Stadium, ijebu-ode will kick off on January 29 and end&nbsp; February 6.<br /><br />He noted that it was aimed at assisting clubs to have a feel of competitive games before the commencement of leagues in the country, adding that teams are expected to play 3 group matches with the first two teams with highest number of points qualify for the semi-finals.<br /><br />Kogi United&rsquo;s media officer, Wale Mustapha who confirmed his club&rsquo;s participation at the tournament, noted that the Gold Cup would assist greatly in putting the team in better shape for the challenges ahead in the league.<br /><br />He however affirmed that the Wada Boys will go into the tournament with total focus and aim of winning it.<br /><br />Sunshine Stars are champions of maiden edition of the pre-season tournament. <br />&nbsp;<br /><br /><u><b>Group Draws:</b></u><br />Group A<br />Kogi United FC<br />FC Ebedei<br />Sunshine Stars<br />First Bank<br /><br />Group B<br />Shooting Stars<br />Prime FC<br />Rising Stars<br />Sharks FC.
