Published: January 23, 2015
In preparation for the State’s Football Association Elections as directed by Nigeria Football Federations (NFF), Oyo State Football Association on Friday morning inaugurated a five-man election committee, chaired by Dr. Abiodun Salami.
Other members of the committee included Tunde Adedeji, Ibiwumi Ishola and Adewale Omoshalewa while the present Oyo FA secretary, Kehinde Ojelowo would serve as secretary of the committee.
A three man appeal committee was also inaugurated with Barr. Adewole Adegoke as Chairman, Ojo Olusoga and Adeyemi B.A as members.
The outgoing Chairman, Barr. Leye Adepoju who chaired the event charged the election body to conduct free, fair, transparent and credible election which would make other states to learn from Oyo State that is reputed for its pace-setting status.
“We considered your interest in football and your interests in the state before nominating each and every one of you for the onerous assignment and we believe that you will carry it out with utmost sense of responsibilities” said the former chairman of Organisation and Disciplinary Committee of NFF.
While reacting to newsmen after the inauguration, Dr. Salami who is serving for the second time as the chairman of Oyo FA electoral body pledged to make Oyo State proud by putting up a most transparent poll that would be fair to all participants.
He, however, thanked the leadership of Oyo FA for founding him worthy for the second time while claiming to use the four weeks grace remaining between now and the election time judiciously for an itch-free election which would make the appeal committee job easier or not having any job to do.
