Oyo Speaker Sponsors Kid To Frenage Academy
Published: January 27, 2015
The Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Monsurat Sumonun has given a talented young soccer player, Adelodun Usman, 14, a scholarship to nurture and further his career and become a future star at the foremost soccer school in Ibadan, Frenage Soccer Academy.
The Speaker, who personally handed the kid over to the management of the academy said she noticed the innate soccer talent in the boy while playing street football in their neighborhood in Oyo and decided to invest in his future just like how Lionel Messi that won four consecutive Ballon d’Or was discovered at a very early stage and enrolled to Barcelona Academy.
Hon. Sumonun, who is vying for a seat from Oyo Central Senatorial district in the fast approaching elections under the banner of All Progressive Congress Party (APC), after inspecting the facilities being used by the academy that camped inside Lead City University Ibadan however, pledged to extend same gesture to many other talented kids within her constituency.
“I was also a sports prefect and an active sports person during my secondary school’s days, so do cherish a sporting talent in younger ones. I must tell you that I’m quite impressed with the standard and what I have seen at Frenage Soccer Academy here.
“I’m also assuring you that more talented youths from my constituency would also be spotted and sponsor to this academy, so that their soccer talent can be better polished and a path to their professional football career can be well established here”, Oyo Speaker noted.
While receiving the scholarship recipient from the speaker, the CEO of Frenage, Prince Oluwole Ololade thanked Hon. Sumonun for her benevolent gesture towards grassroots football development while assuring the speaker of best soccer teachings that are obtainable anywhere in the world.
