Emmanuel Amuneke Says Eaglets Will Not Underrate South Africa
Published: February 23, 2015
The Golden Eaglets will trade tackles with the South Africa Under 17s in the semi-final of the CAF Under 17 Championship.
To get to this stage of the competition, Nigeria emerged winner of Group A with seven points while their opponents on Wednesday, Amajimbos, finished second in Group B.
Coach Emmanuel Amuneke says the South African team will not be treated with kid gloves, pointing out that Nigeria almost paid the price for overconfidence against Guinea.
“We are not going to under-rate South Africa. My boys made that mistake against Guinea and it nearly cost us dear.
“We will go all out against South Africa with our full strength,” said Emmanuel Amuneke.
Both teams have qualified for the Fifa Under 17 World Cup scheduled to take place in Chile from 17th October – 8th November.
