England Ahead Of Nigeria In Race For Jordon Ibe - Daily Mail, UK
Published: February 26, 2015
The English Football Association are hoping to beat the Nigeria Football Federation in the race for the international future of Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe, according to the Daily Mail.
Born and brought up in the United Kingdom 19 years ago, Ibe is also eligible to play for Nigeria, despite having caps for the youth teams of England.
This website understands that the Nigeria Federation, and Samson Siasia in particular, have sounded out his representatives about the possibility of representing the Super Eagles and the Olympic National Team.
Fifa rules allow Jordon Ibe to apply for a one time change, as the player had dual nationality as at the time he first represented the Under 18 team of England in their game against Italy on October 24, 2012.
The ex Wycombe Wanderers starlet could be handed his international debut when the England national team tackle Republic of Ireland and Slovenia in June.
