Raheem Lawal Continues Poor Disciplinary Record
Published: March 01, 2015
Eskisehirspor midfielder Raheem Lawal was sent off for the first time since he made his Super Lig debut, taking the walk of shame in his team’s 3 - 0 loss to Rizespor on Saturday.
The Nigeria international was issued a straight red card by referee Yildirim in the 18th minute for apparently raising his hand during a scuffle with Sercan Taya .
Last season, the central midfielder was red carded for the first time in his professional career while defending the colours of Mersin İdmanyurdu in their game against Manisaspor.
Raheem Lawal’s disciplinary record has been far from impressive since moving to Europe, having accumulated 37 yellow cards over the course of five seasons, including this term.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles stopper Godfrey Oboabona failed to come off the bench in the tie staged at the Yeni Rize ehir Stadium.
