Sammy Ameobi Starts Against Arsenal; Chuba Akpom Fails To Make Squad

Anglo - Nigerian striker Sammy Ameobi will make his 14th start of the season when Newcastle United entertain Arsenal at St James Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Manager John Carver has chosen him in attack along with Ayoze Perez and Yoan Gouffran.
With nine games yet to be decided, Sammy Ameobi has already surpassed his personal goals record and starts in a single season, which he set in the 2013 - 2014 season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom has been left out of the 18 - man squad, with manager Arsene Wenger naming Welbeck and Giroud in the attack while England international Theo Walcott is on the bench.
Sammy Ameobi has accumulated 1179 minutes of game time under his belt this season.
