Flying Eagles Skipper Musa Mohammed Says Mission Has Been Accomplished
Published: March 23, 2015
Nigeria Under 20s skipper Musa Mohammed has expressed his happiness at winning the African Youth Championship, with the Flying Eagles beating Senegal 1 - 0 on Sunday to win the tournament for the seventh time.
The FC Heart Academy defender says the mission of the Flying Eagles in Senegal has been accomplished, as they had targeted qualifying for the Fifa Under 20s as African champions.
“We are happy with our performance as champions. From the beginning, we promised ourselves not just the ticket for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, but to qualify as African champions.
“We are happy to achieve both. We played a more compact game based on the tactics of the coach since it was a final match,”Musa Mohammed told reporters in his post match comments.
