Malta national team coach, Pietro Ghedin, has named his final squad for the upcoming matches against Georgia and Azerbaijan.<br /><br />Qormi star Alfred Effiong is primed to make his international debut for the Island Nation, as he was among the players retained.<br /><br />But Hibernians youngster Joseph Mbong failed to make the squad list that was announced on Sunday, March 22.<br /><br />Instead, the attacker, who previously starred for the Malta Under 19 squad, has been handed a call - up to the Malta Under 21s. <br /><br />Alfred Effiong has been in Malta for the past ten years, and is married to a Maltese citizen.<br /><br />He was issued a Maltese passport on the 26th of February, and can turn out for the country as he has no caps at any level for Nigeria.<br />
