CSKA Moscow Ace Ahmed Musa To Captain Nigeria Versus South Africa
Published: March 29, 2015CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa will proudly lead the Super Eagles out when they take on South Africa on Sunday afternoon.
In what would be his 45th appearance for the national team, the Kano Pillars legend will captain the Nigeria squad for the first time in his career.
The usual candidates to wear the armband - Vincent Enyeama, John Obi Mikel and Austin Ejide - are not in the squad, so Musa was given the honour being the most capped and experienced international player in the squad.
Indeed, the pacy striker made his debut for Nigeria five years ago at the age of 17, when he replaced Obi Mikel in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.
Ahmed Musa has been named in the starting lineup 28 times since making his Nigeria debut.
