Finally, former Golden Eaglets striker Macauley Chrisantus has opened his goalscoring account for promotion candidates AEK Athens, as the capital side defeated Kalithea in the Greece First Division on Sunday.

Before the encounter at Stadio Spyros Yalabidis, the ex Hamburg man had spent 204 minutes on the pitch without scoring, and that unwelcome statistic was extended by 47 minutes in today’s game.

Chrisantus ended his goal drought since joining AEK Athens after scoring three minutes into the second half, ensuring that the game finished with a scoreline of 2 - 0 in favour of the table toppers.

On a personal note, the 24 - year - old last scored in a league game six months ago while defending the colours of Sivasspor, before his move to Greece.

He has played eight games in all competitions for AEK Athens since completing his shift.
