NFF supremo, Amaju Pinnick, has commended the Dream Team after qualifying for September’s All Africa Games in Congo - Brazzaville by defeating Zambia 2 - 1 over two legs.
Taiwo Awoniyi made sure the country’s flag will be hoisted in Congo in five months time by scoring the game - winner four minutes from time after Friday Samu had equalized for the home team in the 76th minute.
“I am very, very excited with the result of the U-23 boys in Zambia,” said Amaju Pinnick in a statement.
“They have done the nation proud, just as the Super Falcons did on Friday.
“I can tell you that the Nigeria Football Federation and the entire Nigeria football fraternity is happy with the two teams’ accomplishments.”
The Nigeria Under 23s and the Super Falcons failed to qualify for the last All Africa Games staged in Maputo and Mozambique.
