Saint-Etienne Set To Swoop For Nigeria Skipper Vincent Enyeama
Published: April 13, 2015
According to reports in France, Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama could depart Lille for a rival team in Ligue 1 in the summer.
Europe-mercato.com claims that the leadership of Saint-étienne will move for the Nigeria numero uno if they lose the services of Stéphane Ruffier in the summer transfer window, but only if they fail to land Alphonse Aréola ( SC Bastic on loan from PSG )
The other shot - stopper being considered by Saint-étienne chiefs is Benoît Costil of Rennes.
Vincent Enyeama joined Lille in 2011 from Hapoel Tel Aviv but returned to Israel the following season after failing to establish himself in their first team squad.
That situation has changed now, as the 32 - year - old has become one of the most important players at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the last couple of seasons.
The glovesman has been nominated for the Marc Vivien Foe Award, which is awarded to the best player with African heritage in France.
Vincent Enyeama has to see off competition from Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Aymen Abdennour and Max-Alain Gradel to win the award for the second year running.
