Former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni says that he will become a figure of hate back in his homeland should he assist Reading defeat Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday.
If the experienced striker gets playing time at Wembley tomorrow, it would be the first time he’ll grace the hallowed turf.
“All my friends back home support Arsenal,” Yakubu told getreading.co.uk.
“Whenever I play them I always give them tickets to come and watch and they say to me they want me to lose. They say I can score one, but that’s it.
“They never want me to win. But that’s normal.
“Back home in Nigeria, 60 per cent of the country supports Arsenal. They love them.”
