Bartholomew Ogbeche Equals The Vulture Eredivisie Record
Published: April 18, 2015
Bartholomew Ogbeche etched his name into SC Cambuur folklore by scoring his 13th league goal for the modest club in their 1 - 1 draw with Excelsior on Friday evening.
The Nigeria international now has 15 goals in total for Cambuur since joining the club two winters ago as a free agent.
Before now, a certain Jack de Gier, nicknamed The Vulture, was the top goalscorer for The Yellow - Blues in the Eredivisie with 15 goals, but the ex PSG talent has equaled that record.
And with four matches left before the end of the regular season, one can bet that Ogbeche will surpass that tally at the end of this campaign.
SC Cambuur will qualify for the play - offs if and only if PEC Zwolle win the Dutch Cup final against Groningen in two weeks time and they finish in at least eighth position.
