Obafemi Martins Named MLS Player Of The Week

Seattle Sounders goal poacher Obafemi Martins has been named Player of the Week in the MLS for the ninth round of matches.
The former Nigeria international netted a brace plus assisted the third goal in Seattle Sounders 3 - 1 win against New York City FC on Sunday.
Martins first hit target in the 23rd minute before grabbing a second goal just in the 66th minute to take his tally this season to six goals in seven matches.
The Player of the Week award is voted on by North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) consisting of members of print, television, radio and online media.
Obafemi Martins extended his contract with Seattle Sounders for three more years last October.
