Obafemi Martins Scoops MLS Goal Of The Week Award
Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins has won the AT&T Goal of the Week Award for the ninth round of games in Major League Soccer. <br /><br />His 66th minute strike against New York City FC in which Clint Dempsey fed him a back heel before he beat goalkeeper Josh Saunders landed him the accolade.<br /><br />Obafemi Martins garnered 47.67 percent of the votes followed by Sebastian Giovinco of Toronto, who finished with 28.48 % of the votes.<br /><br /> New England Revolution star Charlie Davies and FC Dallas pair Mauro Diaz and Fabian Castillo were the remaining nominees. <br /><br />Switzerland international Innocent Emeghara was chosen as the Goal of the Week winner in Week 2 while Martins first won the award this season on match day seven.<br /><br />Photo Credit : mlssoccer.com<br />
