Nigeria National League Chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama, is facing a backlash from the media in his home state, Abia, after beating up a journalist, who wanted to interview him after Abia Warriors’ clash with Kwara United on Sunday.
What started as a friendly chat between Inyama and Hyacinth Ezindu, who works for Broadcasting Corporation Of Abia State , turned violent after the NNL supremo discovered the journalist is from Ngwa, a locality in Abia State he hates with a passion.
A top source who witnessed the incident at Hotel Ohama told allnigeriasoccer.com : “After the game the journalist, Hyacinth, went to interview Inyama. When he got there, Emeka Inyama was telling him he likes his shoe.
“Hyacinth told him he bought the shoe from the little money he saved. Inyama told him he doesn’t support Abia Warriors and there’s no way he can give him money.
“He asked him what part of Abia he’s from and the journalist told him Ngwa. His mood changed and he walked out the journalist from the interview session.
“Before he left he told Inyama not to cast aspersions on his people, then he (Inyama) became angry.
“Inyama stood up , pinned the journalist to the wall and started hitting his head on the wall.”
