Taiwo Awoniyi Bags Hat - trick In Win Against Hoffenheim U23s

Flying Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi bagged a hat - trick as the national team defeated Hoffenheim Under 23s 5 - 2 in a scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon.

Porto Under 19 striker Chidera Ezeh and Godwin Saviour helped themselves to one goal apiece in the friendly at the Hoffenheim sports ground.

Dream Team VI target Kevin Akpoguma represents the Hoffenheim U23s but it is unclear at this point if he played against his compatriots today.

Next up for the Flying Eagles is another tune - up game against Nurnberg U23s on Friday before their final friendly on German soil with Freiburg U23s on May 19. 

The Nigeria Football Federation will announce the 21 - player squad for the World Cup in New Zealand on or before Friday.
